Komatsu Mining has a full time and permanent positon for a Technical Service Representative (TSR) at Donkin Coal Mine located at 750 Long Beach Road, Donkin , NS, B1A 6P2. This is an underground position.
The TSR will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical as well as mechanical aspects of Komatu's underground heavy equipment and components according to defined specifications. The TSR is also responsible for new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision. The role will provide support for upgrades and programming, perform maintenance and preventative maintenance and lend technical support to equipment assemblies for the project. In addition, you will also be required to attend meetings and provide the customer with reports and advice on the assembly progress.
-Be available for continuous miner build, commissioning stage, and follow-up repair and service
-Provide technical support for our product lines on customers' site; research and troubleshoot issues
-Inspects/audits equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions
-Apply hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge to equipment and issues
-Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
-Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
-Completes accurate time records, technical service reports, failure reports, etc
-Stays current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
-Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
-Interface current field issues with our Engineering group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
-Coach customer maintenance personnel on equipment maintenance techniques and standards
-Ensures customer follow up and satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
-Complies with Komatsu as well as the customer safety policies/procedures and applicable regulatory, customer or industry requirements
-Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Joy Global products
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
-Electrical Journeyman certification from any jurisdiction, with strong mechanical hydraulics experience
-A dual ticket (Electrician and millwright) will be an added benefit
-Underground coal mine experience
-Workplace language is English
-Able to participate in machine building and commissioning phases of new equipment
-Understand operation and function of Komatsu underground mining equipment, and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems. Possess proven experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an underground environment plus demonstrated electrical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
-Must have expert knowledge of Komatsu's underground mining equipment specifically Joy Continues miners (HM9 HM21, HM31) and shuttle cars,
-Experience in testing the above mentioned equipment for proper performance
-Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
-Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
-Excellent people skills
-Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
-Must have a track record to maintain a safe and clean work environment
-Willingness to work overtime when required
-Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanical and electrical journeymen and apprentices within the field environment
-Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
Wage & Benefits:
-$47.58 per hour and eligible for Overtime after 40 hours
