Job duties include planning, preparing and serving meals for the child, overseeing child's activities such as meals and rest periods, maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home, teaching personal hygiene, overseeing child's chores and responsibilities, disciplining the child according to the methods by parents, organizing and participating in child's activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings, taking the child to school and appointments, and keeping records of daily activities and health information regarding the child. Fulfilling light housekeeping duties are also expected.
Employer works in health care and sometimes works on weekends or night shifts. Nanny must be willing and able to accommodate employer's change in work schedule. Nanny may be requested to also work overtime after working 40-44hrs/week.
Skill requirements include effective communication skills, organization skills, child discipline, good judgment and initiative, and child coaching skills, flexibility and reliability. No Diploma, certificate or degree required but Nanny is expected to have some level of education to be able to support/assist the child in doing his homework in Kindergarten/Grade school.
Experience in child care is an asset.
Additional requirements include CPR and First Aid Certificate, Drug test, Criminal record check, Child welfare check, and positive reference checks.
Contract: Negotiable and renewable to a maximum of 5 years
