Hotel Front Desk Supervisor (NOC 6313)

SALARY:  $23.00 per hour; full-time position (accommodation and food available on site)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·      managing the daily operations of the front desk

·      assisting staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests

·      providing staff with necessary training and support in job duties, safety procedures and hotel policies

·      preparing and adjusting weekly work schedules and assigning work duties to staff

·      ensuring that staff reports to work as scheduled; documenting any late or absent employees

·      monitoring staff performance in all phases of service and job functions

·      monitoring the check-in/check-out process; anticipating critical situations and assisting wherever necessary to help alleviate the pressure and to process the guest expediently

·      overseeing that guests are welcomed, registered into a hotel's computer system and assigned an appropriate room or suite

·      resolving guest complaints and reviewing special guest requests in a timely manner and ensuring guest satisfaction

·      monitoring staffs' interaction with guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service

·      ensuring that current information on rates, packages and promotions is available at the Front Desk and that all staff are knowledgeable on such

·      maintaining complete knowledge with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards

·      managing and maintaining front desk computer system, equipment and supplies, ensuring all is ready for service, resolving problems and calling headquarters for support as required

·      maintaining complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment

·      completing requisitions to replenish shortages of supplies

·      monitoring and ensuring that all cashiering procedures comply with accounting policies and standards

·      verifying each Front Desk shift’s transactions and reviewing work performed

·      managing and processing credit card transactions

·      administering guest payment policies

·      responsible for maintaining Hotel key security system; administering guest safe deposit boxes

·      responsible for knowing Hotel emergency procedures and following all standard operating procedures

·      coordinating work with other departments to fulfill special guest requests

·      notifying Housekeeping/Maintenance of any reported problems with suites and/or grounds

·      preparing and updating reports to general manager, maintenance department and housekeeping

·      maintaining inventory for Pantry and managing orders

·      maintaining positive guest relations at all times

·      resolving and monitoring Choice Hotel guest surveys and reviews

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         Minimum 1 year of related supervisory experience

·         Flexibility in work hours (days, nights, weekends and holidays)
