Job Title

Fish Cleaner

NOC: 6331

Wage: Starting at $15.00-$18.00 per hour (40 hours per week) - permanent/full-time

Location: 800 Boyer Blvd, Mississauga, Ontario, L5V 2Y1

Required Language Skills: English (spoken)

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the fast, efficient and correct cleaning of all seafood items.
Prepare fish fillets, butterfly cut and deboning for Filipino dishes such as Dinaing na Bangus, Relyenong Bangus, and Sisig na Bangus.
Responsible for following correct food safety practices in the handling and cleaning of fish and other seafood products like thawing frozen products and cleaning cutting boards.
Assisting in receiving seafood deliveries by transferring, stacking and organizing the delivered stacks inside the walk-in cooler and freezer areas.
Ensure food safety compliance standards are met.
Responsible for following proper personal hygiene practices to assure the safe handling of food and the prevention of cross contamination.
Responsible for maintaining the work area clean at all times and devoid of any water pools which may cause a slip and fall accident.
Responsible for keeping and maintaining cleaning equipment including water hoses and water valves, knives, cleavers, scale removers, and cutting boards.
Makes sure correct and safety gear like caps, aprons, and safety gloves are always used.
Complies with food safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Required Skills:
At least two (2) years of experience in fish cleaning and handling seafood products in a retail operations setting.
Basic skills in using fish cleaning tools such as a knife and fish scaler/scale remover.
Required Education:

A high school diploma
