 Quinn Dressel Associates is a well-known structural engineering design office. We are currently looking for a technologically outstanding and experienced Drafting Technician (NOC 2253) on a permanent and full-time basis.


Position description (main duties)

·         Draft engineering designs and drawings based on concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, and specification sheets, for the preparation of construction documents used in the construction of buildings, industrial plants, and other structures

·         Develop and complete design drawings, quantity calculations and as-built drawings for various types of projects using software packages (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)

·         Operate Revit software, computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations to prepare 3D models of structures and 2D executive drawings

·         Coordinate and prepare working drawings, contract documents, sketches, plans, and electronic correspondence

·         Quality check and verify drawings to conform to design data and specifications

·         Support Senior Engineers with project documentation, design calculations and quality drawings

·         Prepare documentation packages and produce drawing sets that are accurate to client needs

·         Review costs and material estimates and create accurate technical reports

·         Supervise and provide training to other technologists, technicians and drafter to constantly improve essential skills



·         Minimum college diploma, major in Civil Engineering or in Construction/Building Engineering

·         Experience as follows:

° Minimum 1 year project experience using Revit-BIM software, preferably 2016 or later

° Familiarity with AutoCAD;

° Familiarity with design documents prepared by other design disciplines, particularly architectural drawings

·         Experienced with reinforced concrete and structural steel structures

·         Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards

·         Experience with seismic assessment and restoration of heritage buildings is a plus

·         Ability to analyze data, reports, correspondence, etc.

·         Must be a team player and work well within a team environment and lead less experienced Revit staff;

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment with exceptional time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time;

·         Excellent organizational and prioritising skills

·         Strong Presentation skills (written, oral and visual)

Compensations and others

·         $54,000 per year based upon 37.5 hours working per week, with the ability to work some overtime hours upon request

·         10 days of paid vacation

·         Group benefits available after 3 months employment
