MHI Canada Aerospace Inc. (MHICA), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is a Tier 1 manufacturer of heavy aerospace structures and assemblies, based in Mississauga Ontario. MHICA facilities include state-of-the-art assembly operations and supply chain & logistics center where highly skilled employees perform complete assembly, avionics, systems installations, rigging and test on wings and mid-fuselage for sector leading Ultra Long-Range Bombardier Global 5000/6000 and the Super Mid-Sized Challenger 350 Business aircraft.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, install, and assemble aircraft structural systems
  • Repair, clean, and reassemble components on aircraft structure
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings (2D and 3D) and applying company manuals and procedures
  • Identify, record, and prevent problems relating to product, process, and systems through initiating/recommending solutions and control the processing, delivery, and installation of product to correct the problems
  • Examine and sort work orders and drawings
  • Prepare job station for daily activity and safe work environment
Qualifications:
  • Completion of aviation maintenance engineer course, aviation technician or related program
  • Must have minimum 2 years of experience on-the-job training for aircraft mechanics
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of different machinery, its usage, that includes Milling Machine, Lathes, Drilling Machine, Band Saw, Grinders, and various other hand tools
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments, its proper and accurate usage, which includes gauges, callipers, etc.
  • Communication: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for workmanship and productivity
  • Teamwork: Work with other people with cooperation and as a good team member, and respect each team member's individual right
Working Conditions:  
  • Some work activities will occur after normal business hours i.e. evenings and weekends.
  • Must be comfortable working in a noisy, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be physically fit, energetic, agile, willing and able to:
    • work in restricted spaces (tanks)
    • work at heights (3rd floor of jigs)
    • work rotating shifts when and as required
    • bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs repeatedly during shift
    • perform heavy lifting (< 40 lbs) as needed to perform the job
    • stand for 7 hours of an 8 hour shift
